sgwordy sets goals

It's true. I do, and often. Little ones, big ones, silly ones...

I've always believed that we make time for what is important to us. It's self-evident to me that if someone is making time to do something then it must be important or a priority. Day to day, week to week, year to year our priorities might change but what we choose to do with every day is a testament to what is important to us. We phase things in, we phase things out, (Heck, I've even been phased out. It's always sad when that happens but life and friendships change which is depressing the first time but as distance and families grow I'm hard put to get too bent out of shape about it anymore.) some things last forever but they are all of our choosing.

As 2011 has trucked along at alarming speed I've realized that I allowed myself to prioritize ALL of my favorite things and phased out some of the more challenging activities I like to participate in (and, ok, a few responsibilities I really shouldn't let slide). Well, I'd like to get some of those challenging but rewarding activities back into my schedule and the only way to make it work is to read fewer books (gasp! tears! oh the humanity!) and spend less time on the internet.

I'm been working hard to move in that direction over the last few weeks and I'm happy with my progress (and, yes, it actually is work for me to not read books - it's so easy and addicting and fun:) but it means that I'm unable to engage as much in the online communities that I love so much. So if I seem absent it's only that I am silent and a little behind on the internet lately, not that I've left off enjoying the lovely content to be found out there.

Much luck to everyone working on their goals!
